Brazilian Butt Lift
Brazilian butt lift
We are pretty much stuck with the backside we are born with. Whether it’s curvy or straight, flat or round, you get what you get — diet and exercise won’t change your backside. But a Brazilian butt lift with Dr. Aydin can transform a flat, shapeless bottom into a rounder, curvier version. A Brazilian butt lift is basically a fat transfer to augment the buttocks. It has become the procedure of choice to improve the shape of the buttocks, replacing augmentation with implants.
Who could benefit from a Brazilian butt lift?
A Brazilian butt lift enhances a patient’s natural curves. It can add volume and roundness to a flat or small butt. A butt lift can add size, giving the patient a more prominent butt.
Some people ask about butt implants, but Dr. Aydin prefers the Brazilian butt lift. In contrast to implants, the Brazilian method uses the patient’s own body fat to reshape the butt. He believes fat injections create a more natural result, have a lower risk of infection, and have no risk of allergic reaction or rejection. Occasionally, with implants the implant can sift, and this then requires revision surgery. Plus, liposuction to harvest the fat can be used to contour the areas around the buttocks to further enhance the changes.
The Brazilian butt lift is a two-step procedure performed with the patient under general anesthesia. It takes from two to four hours. Dr. Aydin first harvests the patient’s own fat through tumescent liposuction. This helps to contour areas surrounding the buttocks, as the most popular areas for harvesting fat are the lower back, waist, flanks (love handles), thighs, and stomach. The harvested fat (up to three times the amount to be re-injected will usually be taken) is then purified to separate the fat cells from other cells, blood, and other liquid.
The second step involves re-injecting the fat into the buttocks. Dr. Aydin does this through hundreds of tiny injections at varying depths. This ensures an even, natural-looking augmentation. In a Brazilian lift, special attention is given to the upper buttocks because this presents a lifted, younger-looking profile.
Recovery and results
As you would expect, Dr. Aydin advises patients to avoid sitting directly on the buttocks or lying on their back for two to three weeks following the procedure. Patients can usually return to work after two weeks, and can resume normal activities in one month.
Your results are immediate, but they keep improving with time because it takes a little while for the fat “to take.” In fact, your final results may take a full year to show themselves. Over time, some of the initial volume will diminish — patients retain 60 to 80% of the transferred fat, as the body absorbs the rest.
