Am i a candidate for a mommy makeover?

Candidates who want to achieve the body they had before pregnancy must be in generally good health, no longer breastfeeding, and be done having children.

Mommy Makeover

Pregnancy and childbirth are seminal experiences for every woman. Unfortunately, the havoc the whole process wreaks on the body can leave a mother less than thrilled with its aftermath. What happened to my taut breasts? Where did that stomach pooch come from? And why is the skin on my abdomen so loose?

Dr. Aydin performs a mommy makeover, a combination of surgical procedures, to help women combat the toll taken on their bodies from pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. A mommy makeover can give a woman back her pre-pregnancy figure, and maybe even improve on it a bit!
Who Should Get a Mommy Makeover?
In order to be a candidate for a mommy makeover, you must stopped breastfeeding and should be done having children. Also, good mommy makeover candidates have returned to an exercise routine and have lost their extra weight from pregnancy. This is important because a mommy makeover is not a weight loss procedure; it is a body-contouring procedure. Dr. Aydin prefers his patients to be within 10% of their ideal weight before considering a mommy makeover.
What Procedures are Involved in a Mommy Makeover?

Dr. Aydin’s mommy makeovers specifically target the areas affected by pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. Although not set in concrete, these are the usual procedures involved:

  • Breast Lift - Pregnancy and breastfeeding lead to sagging breasts. A breast lift brings the breasts back up to a younger profile, removing excess sagging skin.
  • Breast Augmentation - Though not all women opt to have augmentation as part of their makeover, most do because breastfeeding and a breast lift usually take volume from the breasts. After pregnancy and breastfeeding, the breast contour tends to be less full.
  • Tummy Tuck - When the stomach area stretches with pregnancy,  the skin usually never recovers to its previous state of tightness. Known colloquially as a "stomach pooch", it’s a common aftereffect of pregnancy and a tummy tuck removes it.
  • Liposuction -  No matter how much you exercise and watch what you eat, people are prone to pockets of fat in certain spots, like the inner thighs, abdomen, and even under the chin. Liposuction removes those pockets permanently.
  • Surgical Details -  Though mommy makeovers are customized for each patient, they generally involve abdominal and breast work. The surgery is performed under general anesthesia and often begins with liposuction and an abdominoplasty. An incision is made along the hip area, stomach muscles are tightened, and the skin is then pulled down. Extra skin is cut and a new belly button is often made. As for the breasts, patients usually want a lift. An incision is made around the areola and the breast tissue is lifted and reshaped to improve breast contour. Sometimes an implant will be used for more fullness.
How Long is the Procedure?

5-7 hours under general anesthesia.

What is the Recovery Like?

A mommy makeover involves a number of procedures combined into one surgical session, so patients shouldn’t expect an instant recovery. This concerns women who have a small child running around the house, and it is a good reason to enlist some help for at least the 2 weeks after surgery, as this is when the most involved portion of your recovery will take place. Generally, it will be 2 weeks before you can return to work. Lifting and strenuous exercise of any kind will need to wait for up to two months.

What is the Recovery Time?

6-8 weeks

What is the Price?

Mommy makeovers with Dr. Aydin start at $18,500.
