Pregnancy and childbirth are seminal experiences for every woman. Unfortunately, the havoc the whole process wreaks on the body can leave a mother less than thrilled with its aftermath. What happened to my taut breasts? Where did that stomach pooch come from? And why is the skin on my abdomen so loose?
Dr. Aydin performs a mommy makeover, a combination of surgical procedures, to help women combat the abuse their bodies take from pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. A mommy makeover can give a woman back her pre-pregnancy figure, maybe even improve on it a bit!
Am I ready for a Mommy Makeover?
Despite the fact that you have the after-effects of pregnancy and childbirth, two things must be completed before you can even consider having a mommy makeover — breastfeeding and childbirth. Breastfeeding makes your breasts larger than their normal size. To be a candidate for a mommy makeover, you need to have finished breastfeeding at least two to three months earlier to allow your breasts to return to their natural size.
And if you’re even considering having additional children, it’s not time for a mommy makeover. Why? All of the results you gain with the surgeries can be nullified by a new pregnancy and birth.
Also, good mommy makeover candidates have returned to an exercise routine and have lost their extra weight from pregnancy. This is important because a mommy makeover is not a weight-loss procedure; it’s a body-contouring procedure. Dr. Aydin prefers his patients to be within 10% of their ideal weight before considering a makeover.
What is involved in a Mommy Makeover?
Dr. Aydin’s mommy makeovers specifically target the areas affected by pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. Although not set in concrete, these are the usual procedures involved:
Recovery and Results?
A mommy makeover involves a number of procedures combined into one surgical session, so patients shouldn’t expect an instant recovery. This concerns women who have a small child running around the house, and it is good reason to enlist some help for at least the first two weeks. That is when the most involved portion of your recovery will occur. The good thing is that, rather than having to recover from three or four different procedures, you’re only having a single recovery time. Generally, it will be two weeks before you can return to work. But lifting and strenuous exercise of any kind will need to wait for up to two months.
I’m 5’4” about 135 lbs. I called the office to make an apt for liposuction on my stomach, flanks, & lower back. I was transferred to Nancy, one of Dr. Aydin’s coordinators. She was so patient & helpful answering all of my questions and accommodating my crazy work schedule to get me in as soon as possible. After going to other consultations, I scheduled my surgery before even meeting Dr. Aydin in person bc of the customer service I received, making me feel like I was in good hands. Last minute I decided to go through with a fat transfer for a BBL & now being 3 weeks post op, I’m already thrilled with the results. Dr. Aydin & Nancy we’re in constant communication with me after surgery making sure I was comfortable & I’m already feeling more confident and ready for summer in my new & improved body. Thank you Dr. Aydin! Thank you Nancy!
First off I want to express how extremely nervous I was about doing ANY kind of surgical procedure. However, all of my worries immediately went away the moment I met Dr. Aydin. He is extremely kindhearted and very professional. He addressed all of my questions and concerns and both him and his staff made me feel at ease. Even months after my procedure I sometimes contact him about questions or concerns and he responds within the day. I am very happy I decided to choose him as my doctor. I will definitely be going back in the near future!
