AM I A CANDIDATE FOR coolsculpting®?

The best candidate is one that is already within 20 pounds of their ideal weight and fit with small problem areas that are resistant to diet and exercise

What Is CoolSculpting®?

CoolSculpting® body contouring treatments use cryolipolysis, or fat freezing, to target stubborn areas of fat without surgery. The device freezes and kills fat cells without harming neighboring skin, nerves, vessels, or muscles, so there’s no downtime afterward.

CoolSculpting can be used to treat the abdomen, flanks ("love handles"), bra-roll, inner and outer thighs, back, upper arms, and buttocks rolls ("banana rolls"). It can also be used off label to tone knees, hips, and other stubborn fat bulges.

How Long Is The Procedure?

It typically takes less than an hour to treat each area.

What Areas Can Be Treated Using CoolSculpting®?

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved it for treating the abdomen, flanks (aka love handles), bra fat, inner and outer thighs, back fat, upper arms, and buttock rolls (also called banana rolls). Doctors also commonly use CoolSculpting off label (beyond its FDA approval) to tone knees, hips, and other stubborn fat bulges, like the mons pubis, that fit into the applicator.

When Will I See Results?

You’ll start to see results within a month of your first treatment, and the majority of your results should be visible within 2-4 months.

CoolSculpting® VS EmSculpt®?

EmSculpt® is a body contouring procedure that uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to induce nearly 20,000 muscle contractions in one 30-minute session.

Like CoolSculpting®, it reduces fat, but its primary benefit is muscle toning. The two procedures can provide even better results when used together.

What is Recovery Like?

CoolSculpting® recovery experiences vary, depending on how your body responds and how many areas you’ve had treated. You’ll be able to walk out of the office and carry on with your day, but you may feel sore or notice swelling. Many people choose to take the remainder of the day to rest and relax.

It can be helpful to wear compression garments for the first few days, to help ease swelling and discomfort.

One to two weeks post-procedure, it’s common to feel itchy in the treated area. This is a histamine reaction to the inflammatory process of clearing fat cells, and it can be treated with oral antihistamines.

Numbness in the treated area typically resolves within three weeks.

Your body will flush out the damaged fat cells over the next three to four months. Drink plenty of water and take good care of yourself by opting for healthy food and exercise.

Is CoolSculpting® a Weight Loss Procedure?

CoolSculpting®  isn’t a weight-loss solution. It’s a nonsurgical fat-reduction treatment that can help sculpt your body.

It works best for relatively fit people within 20 pounds of their ideal weight, who just want to target pockets of unwanted fat that haven’t responded to diet and exercise.

Possible Side Effects?

Common immediate side effects include redness, firmness, tenderness, swelling, bruising, stinging, and tingling, all of which resolve within a few weeks of treatment for most patients.

In some rare cases, fat cells respond to CoolSculpting by enlarging rather than dying. This condition is called paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH) and can only be treated with surgery. A 2014 study reported the incidence of PAH with CoolSculpting® is currently thought to be around 0.0051 percent.

Are Results Permanent?

The fat cells removed by the treatment are permanently gone, so results can be permanent—provided you don’t gain weight. A healthy diet and regular exercise will help you make the most of your investment.

If you gain weight, fat cells that remain in the treated areas will expand, so it is important to stay fit and in shape in order to maintain your results.

Does CoolSculpting® Hurt?
You will have a few minutes of discomfort from the intense cold and pressure before the area goes numb, but most people don’t find the experience painful after that.
Is CoolSculpting® Safe?

Yes, CoolSculpting® is FDA-approved as a safe medical treatment.
