Target Stubborn Fat With Male Liposuction in NJ

The Aydin Center for Plastic Surgery, Skincare, & Lasers offers several different options of liposuction for men and women, which can help make those stubborn pockets of fat go away. Men commonly have liposuction in the abdomen area to remove unwanted pockets of fat that stubbornly refuse to respond to exercise or changes in diet but keep them from having the trim appearance they desire. Male liposuction in New Jersey with Dr. Aydin can help.

What Is Liposuction?

These stubborn areas of fat are typically localized on the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, and even under the chin, and they’re not going anywhere. Liposuction can help as a minimally invasive procedure by our double board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. N. Bill Aydin, in Paramus, NJ. Fat pockets are suctioned out through a thin tube called a cannula to achieve a slimmer contour. Only small incisions are needed, and they will not require stitches. Dr. Aydin utilizes the tumescent technique, where an anesthetic solution is first injected to minimize pain and firm the fat, making it easier to remove. The accuracy and ease of liposuction have increased dramatically throughout the years, and the recovery has become much less involved. It is a safe procedure to get the results you want.

Are You a Candidate for Male Liposuction?

Ideal candidates for male liposuction in NJ with Dr. Aydin are men who are close to their desired body weight but struggle with stubborn fat deposits that resist diet and exercise. This procedure is best suited for those who have good skin elasticity and are in good overall health. It’s an excellent option for men looking to refine their contours and enhance muscle definition.

What to Expect During the Procedure

Tumescent “Super-Wet”

Tumescent liposuction, known as the “Super-Wet” approach, is a suction-assisted (SAL) technique that uses a solution and power-aided motor to help remove stubborn fat. The surgeon injects the solution, made of saline, lidocaine, and epinephrine (to control bleeding), into the problem areas, then inserts the cannula attached to the motor to remove fat cells from the body at a controlled speed. The motor helps surgeons remove anywhere from several ounces to a few pounds of fat.

Ultrasound-Assisted (UAL)

Another surgical technique commonly used is the ultrasound-assisted (UAL), or ultrasonic, approach. Surgeons perform this dual process on denser areas of fat, such as in the thighs and stomach. During this technique, ultrasound waves loosen and melt the fat into a liquid. Surgeons then use the cannula to extract the solution. This surgical method is more popular among men wanting more defined and contoured muscles.

Laser-Assisted (LAL)

Laser-assisted liposuction uses laser technology on specified areas of fat to burst energy that will loosen and liquefy the fat for removal. LAL liposuction includes brands such as SmartLipo, SlimLipo, Lipolite Laser Liposculpture, LipoLite, and ProLipo PLUS.

Male Liposuction Recovery in NJ

After your liposuction, treated areas will be wrapped to help reduce swelling, bruising, and pain. Compression garments or elastic bandages will then be worn over the treated areas for three to four weeks. This minimizes swelling and helps your skin and tissue adapt to their new contours. However, you will have a fair amount of bruising and swelling for a week to 10 days. Depending on whether you had one area or multiple areas treated, you can return to work in two to three days or one week.

Your full results will be evident as your swelling subsides, but this can take up to a month. The fat removed is gone permanently, so your results will endure. It’s important to maintain a healthy lifestyle and diet. If you gain weight, you can form fat pockets elsewhere.
