NovaThreads® Treatment Technique
Your appointment may take 45 minutes to an hour, as this is a quick treatment with big impact on your facial skin. After your face has been cleansed, our plastic surgeon will mark your facial skin where the incision entrance and exit points will be on each side of the face. During a NovaThreads treatment, you will be awake. We can use lidocaine (a local anesthetic) to numb the area before the NovaThreads are inserted. The plastic surgeon will insert the NovaThreads and readjust them as necessary to give the skin the proper lift. We will provide you with after care instructions on how to have an easy recovery period. Your face may swell and be sensitive, and we advise that you use ice packs to alleviate the side effects. As the NovaThreads dissolve into your skin, you will see a natural boost in collagen production and gorgeous skin. There is no downtime with NovaThreads!
Can I Combine Procedures?
During your private consultation with Dr. Aydin, he may suggest combining the NovaThread technique with other skin rejuvenation treatments to meet your aesthetic goals.
FILLERS: Injectable dermal fillers may be used to plump certain areas of your face where volume is lost. Skin tightening: If the skin is loose, it may be best to have a nonsurgical skin tightening procedure to firm up areas of concern so that the NovaThreads can have optimal results.
FACIAL REJUVENATION TREATMENTS: We offer an array of skin treatments, such as dermabrasion, facials, chemical peels, PRP therapy, and more to even out the tone and texture of your maturing skin.
WRINKLE RELAXERS: NovaThreads work very well with wrinkle relaxers (such as BOTOX® and Dysport®) to decrease the prominence of your facial wrinkles.
Who Should Get NovaThreads®?
If you are experiencing slight sagging in your facial skin (in the areas of your brows, cheeks, neck, chin, jowls), you would be a good candidate for NovaThreads. We can also use NovaThreads on patients who have had previous plastic surgeries on the face (facelift/neck lift/brow lift) to refresh the skin with a little lift without going under the knife again. Men and women, who do not want to have a plastic surgery on their face, should consult with our team to see if NovaThreads are an appropriate treatment for their needs.
Is the Procedure Painful?
Even though you are awake during this treatment, we will numb the area. If you are worried that the threading process will be too painful or stressful to proceed, talk to your aesthetic team about your concerns or fears. We want you to be as comfortable as possible, and leave our office looking and feeling amazing.
Will I Look Overdone?
No. You will not look too pulled back or too tight. This treatment is to give your skin a subtle lift. NovaThreads are customized to your aesthetic needs and implemented by our accomplished plastic surgeon. We want you to look younger and lifted, but as natural as possible.
